Scripture: "You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" Matthew 5:43-44 NIV Application: A review of history shows that cultural values were different before Jesus. Ruthless domination and bloody expansion of kingdoms was not just expected, it was admired. No leader personified this vicious tyrannical power better than Alexander "the Great." But after Jesus, an even more incredible power expanded throughout the world: Caring. Through the Holy Spirit, hearts were changed. Instead of dominating the world by the sword, Jesus established His Kingdom by caring for the weak, the poor, and the most vulnerable. What an unexpected stroke of genius! People began to start caring about others, even people they'd never known. This isn't a fluke. Christianity, lived out in its purest form, changed the world. We are part of that change. Prayer: Christ Jesus, You are the Risen King and the only One Who can change and save the world. Thank You. Amen. Comments are closed.
