Scripture: “God is a fair judge, a God who is angered by injustice every day.” Psalms 7:11 (GW) “I will punish the world for its evil and the wicked for their wrongdoing. I will put an end to arrogant people and humble the pride of tyrants.” Isaiah 13:11 (GW) Application: God sometimes allows bad governments, leaders, or adversaries to operate to fulfill His greater plan. (John 19:11; 1 Peter 2:13; 1 Kings 11:23; Jeremiah 27:6) They may be instruments used by God to do His work, whether they know it or not. But that doesn’t mean that anyone should believe that all acts of all leaders at all times are justified merely because God allowed human free will to prevail. Especially evil free will. Watch how God moves armies, legislators, and presidents around like chess pieces, strategically making sure that His divine purpose works its way into reality, right on schedule. (Romans 8:28) But not one unjust action by the unjust goes unnoticed by God. In time, every act by them will be judged in God's courts and all the corrupt will meet His Supreme Justice. They will be punished for their evil deeds, even if God used their evil to bring about His good. (Isaiah 13:11: 14:5,6) Prayer: Dear God, we pray for victims of injustice. Show us how we can help them and empower us with tools and courage to help them in our own ways. We pray for good leaders to take rule, and that the bad ones will fall into Your plan and not hurt the innocent. Amen. Comments are closed.
