Scriptural Reference: “We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies.” 2 Thessalonians 3:11 (NIV) Application: Being busy isn’t a bad thing. Being busy is a sign of creativity. You accomplish things with the talents that God has given you. When you’re not busy on some constructive project, a feeling of laziness creeps in. Because you’re not using your talents, they waste away. That’s destruction. It gets worse. Next, you begin destroying the character and hopes of others. That’s being a “busybody.” You engage in gossip and negative talk about everything and everybody around you. No matter your age, or where you are in life, you can get busy with something that builds up yourself and others, and glorify God. Pursue it every day without fail. Prayer:
Lord, give me the inspiration to use the gifts You've given me so that I can reach my fullest potential and give You glory. Amen.
