Scripture:
Like a crazy person shooting deadly flaming arrows are those who deceive their neighbor and say, "Hey, I was only joking!"
Proverbs 26:18-19 CEB

Application:
We all know folks who push others to their limits, and then when the victim pushes back, say, "Chill, I was just kidding!"
Let's check ourselves. Did we do this same thing this week?
Teasing and needling others is a dangerous thing. We wouldn't want to endure this ourselves. "Just kidding" (or any equivalent) usually is a signal that we really weren't just kidding.

Jesus, let Your Spirit of kindness overtake our meanness. Amen.
