Scripture:
The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth...When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened. Jonah 3:5,10 (NIV)

Application:
We may never in this life know how close we've come to utter destruction brought on by our sinful ways. But God knows, and if we take action fast, He will relent from giving us the punishment we deserve.

Prayer:
Father, sensitize us to when we need to make a change. We welcome the Holy Spirit's urgings. Help us do what's right in Your eyes, and do it without delay. Amen.
