storyScripture:
“For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building.” 1Corinthians 3:9 (NLT) Application: Being a “brick house” takes on a lot of meanings, some decidedly crude, but all meanings evoke an image of something solid, unmovable, and steady. The winds may prevail, as with the wolf’s hot air in Three Little Pigs story, but no matter the conditions, we Christians will remain standing firm. It’s not because of us, it’s our building materials. Our Foundation is God’s Word (Matthew 7:24) Our Cornerstone is Christ (Ephesians 2:20). Our Master Builder is God (1 Corinthians 3:9). We are brick houses. Prayer: Dear God, the foundation You’ve given me is strong, and the material You made me of is solid. These will keep me standing when conditions outside are bad. Remind me of this, because inside, I’m just flesh and blood.
