Scripture: "Nevertheless, each person should live as a believer in whatever situation the Lord has assigned to them, just as God has called them. This is the rule I lay down in all the churches...Were you a slave when you were called? Don’t let it trouble you—although if you can gain your freedom, do so...Brothers and sisters, each person, as responsible to God, should remain in the situation they were in when God called them." 1 Corinthians 7:17, 21-21, 24 (NIV) Application: So often we let feelings of inadequacy stop us from enjoying life. Everyone can point to something about their lives that hobbles their achievements. Some things are innate, like a personality our perceived disability. Some are external, like the place we live or socio-economic status. But did any of those situations stop God from calling us to be His children? No, not one. Right now, we are good enough--more than good enough--to live lives that are not hobbled by troubles. By all means, we should strive to better our conditions, but bettering our external conditions won't make us better in God's eyes. He loves us at 100% full capacity, and wants us to live full, beautiful lives. Right now. Prayer: Father, You created us and called us just as we are. We invite Your Holy Spirit to come in and bring the joy of life inside of us. Amen. Comments are closed.
