Scripture: It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace...Even though we speak like this, dear friends, we are convinced of better things in your case—the things that have to do with salvation. God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. Hebrews 6:4-6, 9-10 NIV Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. Psalm 19:13 NIV Application: Though we sin, the Holy Spirit urges us to return to fellowship with God, calling on Christ to mend our ways and deliver us from the grip of sin. We must develop a track record of fidelity. Work each day to live pure lives, repenting immediately when we do wrong, praying for strength to resist the temptation that Satan certainly will put before us. We are saved. We are so special to God. He will not throw us away. Prayer: Never let me feel that I am a lost cause, God. Your Word tells me that I am not. Amen. Comments are closed.
