Scripture: “In the first year of King Cyrus of Persia, the Lord fulfilled the prophecy he had given through Jeremiah. He stirred the heart of Cyrus to put this proclamation in writing and to send it throughout his kingdom...Then God stirred the hearts of the priests and Levites and the leaders of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin to go to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple of the Lord.” Ezra 1:1, 5 (NLT) Application: God didn't create us to be free-willed beings and then program us to be His robots. We have inclinations toward good and evil within us, and we're free to go one Way or the other. God "stirs up" whatever we keep in our hearts so that His will shall be accomplished. We need not be Christian for this to happen. In fact, He uses non-Christians many, many times to advance His plan of salvation. We have incredible power to use prayer as a means to ask God to stir up the gifts of goodness dwelling inside us. Declutter evil by avoiding sin and praying to God for spiritual healing. The vacancy created can be filled with love, benevolence, and performance of amazing things that will glorify God and make the world a better place. All the talents in the world await our prayer. Prayer: God, we pray that You will stir our hearts toward good. Amen. Comments are closed.
