Staying clean in the desert.

Scripture:
“They forsook the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who had brought them out of Egypt. They followed and worshiped various gods of the peoples around them. They aroused the Lord’s anger because they forsook him and served Baal and the Ashtoreths.” Judges 2:12-13 (NIV)


Application:
God's chosen people prostituted themselves with pagan idols promising rain and big crops in the harsh arid environment. Likewise, when we go through our own dry emotional periods, we're tempted to run to the idols of our unGodly neighbors for prosperity and social acceptability. Only One God delivers in times of trouble and peace.
Worship only Him.


Prayer:
Dear Father God, no matter what others around us do, we want to keep ourselves pure for You. Help us maintain our devotion toward You alone. Amen.
