Scripture:
“Jesus said to them, “Surely you will quote this proverb to me: ‘Physician, heal yourself!’ And you will tell me, ‘Do here in your hometown what we have heard that you did in Capernaum.’ ” “Truly I tell you,” he continued, “no prophet is accepted in his hometown…” Luke 4:23,24 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 (KJV) Application: Skeptics want God to perform miracles when and where they demand. Doesn’t work like that. God works according to His own timing for performing miracles and granting blessings, even when skeptics demand proof. What about us? Believers also feel the need for God to help us right away. But this isn’t out of skepticism. Sometimes it’s desperation. In our pain and anxiety, it’s understandable that we don’t see beyond our own needs. In our eyes, we are worthy and ready. That miracle needs to happen. Now. Here. But God’s timing isn’t always the same as ours. Perhaps we can look back and get and idea why:
They may be an unseen part of the blessing God has in store for us. Prayer: Dear Father, being flesh and blood, I see my own problems and find it hard at times to see Your grand picture. Please help me be patient and accepting of Your divine timing for Your blessings. I love You. Amen.
