Scripture: But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. Genesis 22:11-12 NIV For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 NIV Application: God loves us so much that He will not ask us to go through the pain that He Himself willingly went through for us. For Jesus to take on all our sin, knowing that He would become abhorrent to God, is humbling. For God to do this all in order to reconcile the world to Him is equally humbling. Yet in all of this, God doesn't ask us to ever be put in the same quandary. That work is forever finished. Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we see how much You love us, and we understand how Your pain of separation and joy of reconciliation can happen all at once. Thank You, with love. Amen.
