​Giving out of their poverty

Scripture:
"For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people. And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us.
2 Corinthians 8:3-5 NIV

Application:
Gratitude comes when we see how those who are financially poorer than ourselves give to us out of their poverty...and with genuine eagerness. Our mission is to encourage them and assist them in meeting their needs. 
When we consider giving a privilege, and not a chore, we truly understand God's will.

Prayer:
Show us how to be more like Your faithful poor: to give ourselves first to You, dear Jesus, and next to serve those in need. Amen.
