Scripture: “Early the next morning Abraham got up and loaded his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about.” Genesis 22:3 (NIV) Application: Here's a unique take on this well-known story: Preparing for this hard mission involved a lot of hard work on Abraham's part. Being really busy can keep us focused on God. When we are idle, distractions creep in. We get sidetracked. We make excuses. But filling our minds, hands, and calendars with His work keeps us on mission. Especially the most difficult missions. Prayer: Dear Lord, make us busy enough to keep us on mission, and make us relaxed enough to enjoy Your blessings. Amen.
