Scripture: 'That night, God said, “Balaam, I'll let you go to Moab with Balak's messengers, but do only what I say.” ... “It's all right for you to go,” the Lord's angel answered. “But you must say only what I tell you.” So Balaam went on with Balak's officials. 'Numbers 22:20,35 CEV "Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality." Rev. 2:14 CEV "...They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword." Numbers 31:8 CEV Application: God will use imperfect vessels to deliver His instructions to others, including adversaries of His people. But those vessels, being imperfect, often will corrupt God's message despite warnings by God. They may believe they've been clever to have it both ways, but only God's Way is acceptable, and they will pay the price. Prayer: Father, we pray to keep Your Word and purpose in our lives pure, and that we will resist the temptation to twist Your Word to suit our own purposes. Also, please keep evildoers from corrupting us. Amen. Comments are closed.
