Celebrate, you are a body part!

Scripture:

“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” 1 Corinthians 12:27 (NIV)

Application:
Imagine yourself with this choice:

• Scenario #1: You provide a blessing to a person in need. She grabs your hand and says, "Thank you! You have done a great thing to help me."
• Scenario #2: That same person grabs your hand and says, "I thank God for the church, because it sent you to help me."

Human inclination is to desire #1. It lifts you high personally. But think about what #2 is really saying: You are part of Jesus Christ's body, and He has extended you to do His work. There's no higher calling in heaven or earth.

Celebrate being a Body part.

Prayer:
Dear Jesus, I know that when I accepted Your salvation, my place in heaven was already secured. I don't need any other prize. But here on earth, I'm so thankful that You have chosen to reside in me and empower me to continue Your earthly work through the church. Amen.
