Scripture:
“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.” Mark 10:29-30 (NIV) Application: God doesn’t immediately position us where He’ll use us. God wants us to journey. Every prophet, every church leader, and every unsung hero in God’s kingdom must leave something.
In every instance, the leaving was done for God’s glory. In every case, the reward the person received after leaving was much greater than what was left behind. The journey wasn’t always easy, but it was always worth it. Search your life and make a conscious decision to see what must be left behind to gain more, to God’s glory. Prayer: Dear Father, I’m ready to make my journey. I don’t know the route I’ll take, but with You as my guide, I know I will gain an eternal blessing. Amen.
